Hi!
As the title says, I started a while ago with a Madness Combat board game. I've been making a few board games for a while ago, but just for the fun of it.
These are shots of the playtest of one of the board games I did, the first one at that, that was for a university project. The group disolved a while after the semester ended, but I did like 95% of the game mechanics, all the text and a bunch of the art, a process which I actually loved and I want to go back to this project but reimagining it in the future.
Since then, I've worked on a few projects, and now I'll come to the topic at hand: I rewatched the franchise some months ago, and started thinking how it could be translated to a board game. After this year's Madness Day, knowing about the TTRPG that's being developed reignited the idea, so now I'd like to officially anounce that I started working on this.
While I don't have much yet, I have the base mechanics and loop of the game ready, and yesterday I started sketching the characters (I know these looks ugly) and guns to practice a bit. The excel SS is of the weapons I'm thinking I'll incorporate.
Still have to work on action cards and the board tiles, since it will be a modular board and will be played with an action deck.
While I don't have much to show yet, if this gains traction I might do a discord server or something so I can show people how I'm doing, besides other posts I'll be doing here :) It could also help with playtesting. If I manage to finish this, I think that I'll post the rulebook+art on itch.io as a free Print and Play, and in Tabletop Simulator's workshop.
Anyways, if you read all of this, hope you have a good day.
